In honor of Ruth Etting’s birthday today, how about a great little short film, by Parmount Pictures, featuring her singing two songs…  My Mother’s Eyes by Abel Baer and L.Wolfe Gilbert, and That’s Him Now by Milton Ager and Jack Yellen.

Ruth was born in David City, Nebraska on November 23, 1897 – so by the time this short was made, she was 32-years-old.

She’s billed as “The Sweetheart of Columbia Records” and the film is worth watching, just to watch her hands. She definitely had beautiful and expressive hands!
