Hi,
I’m a part time musician and found Ruth Edding on Youtube as I was searching for the verse to “Body and Soul”. There is a plethora of recordings of the song but the only one I found with the verse was by Ruth. Thanks for introducing her to me. I plan to mention her, some facts about her (and the fact that she sang the verse) at two upcoming jazz concerts as we will play the “verse” as well as the “chorus”

Martha Lorin petformed her tribute to Ruth Etting at St. Peter’s Church(TheJazz Church, in NYC) last month. Body and Soul was always one of my favorite tunes but I didn’t realize that Martha was singing the verse until she got to the chorus. WOW! I wish I could hear it again. Why haven’t other singers sung this?
