In 1927, Ruth Etting debuted on Broadway in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1927, starring Eddie Cantor. They worked together again the very next year on Broadway, in the musical comedy, Whoopee! and in 1933, in the film, Roman Scandals.
Mr. Cantor was an immensely popular comedian, dancer, singer, actor and songwriter – and arguably his biggest hit song was Makin’ Whoopee, from Whoopee!
